The City Council is scheduled to vote on a resolution Aug. 2 that would appoint Jonathan Phillips to serve through Dec. 31, 2005, as the representative to the Council from District 2 an area that includes Northeast Tacoma, the Tideflats, downtown and portions of Tacomas North End. Phillips was chosen from a group of 14 candidates who applied to fill the seat of former Council Member Keven Phelps. Phillips is the chair of the North End Neighborhood Council and chair of the Citys Landmarks Commission. He has also served on the Community Council.
