City's Urban Policy Committee accepting applications for position

If you want to make an impact on livability and human services issues in Tacoma, here’s your chance.
The City Council needs a representative who lives within the city limits to serve on its 11-member Urban Policy Committee.
The term for the volunteer position begins in June and will expire Dec. 8, 2004.
As a member of the Urban Policy Committee, the chosen applicant would make recommendations to the City Council regarding housing for low- to moderate-income residents through Community Development Block Grants and HOME Investment Partnership federal grants.
The committee also advises the council how to spend the city’s human services funding.

Interested people may pick up an application from the City Clerk, Room 238, Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St., or the Mayor’s office, Room 1220. Applications must be returned to the Mayor’s office by May 13.
