City seeks applicants for Human Services Commission

Tacoma City Council is looking to fill five positions on the City of Tacoma’s Human Services Commission.

The 15-member panel conducts public hearings, accepts and reviews funding applications rates project applications, and makes human services funding recommendations to Tacoma City Council. The Human Services Commission also serves as a resource to Tacoma City Council and City of Tacoma staff for implementation of the City of Tacoma’s Human Services Strategic Plan. Candidates are interviewed and recommended by Tacoma City Council’s Public Safety, Human Services, and Education Committee and appointed by Tacoma City Council. Membership must reflect the diversity of the Tacoma community as to race/culture, gender, age, socioeconomics, geography, and interest in Commission membership. Youth between the ages of 16 and 18 are encouraged to apply. More information is available online here.
