Citizen Review Panel to host community meetings

The City of Tacoma’s Citizen Review Panel will be hosting several community meetings in the coming months. The series of meetings provide an opportunity for citizens to share their thoughts, concerns or input about policy related to the Tacoma Police Department. They will also learn about the panel and the conduct complaint management system.

The first meeting will kick-off at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 at Jason Lee Middle School in the Cafeteria. The proceeding meetings will be held through the first of the year.

The Citizen Review Panel was formed by the City of Tacoma City Council as a body to provide advice to the City Council, City Manager and the Chief of Police on policy matters relating to the Police Department. The panel was also directed to promote public awareness of Police Department policies and issues as well as the City’s conduct complaint management system.
