Tacoma Power crews restoring service to 12,000 customers

Approximately 12,000 Tacoma Power customers still have no power after heavy winds hit the Puget Sound region this afternoon. Most outages occurred in rural Pierce County, around Frederickson, Graham and Elk Plain.

Initially, approximately 23,000 customers had no power.

Tacoma Power anticipates that more customers will lose power if the expected wind gusts hit this evening. Line crews will remain on duty and work throughout the evening to restore power as quickly as possible.

Tacoma Power customers without power should call (253) 502-8602 to report outages.
