Metro Parks Tacoma is prepared to celebrate the grand opening of the STAR Center’s new Urban Adventure Course.
The course includes swinging rope bridges, climbable mountains, twisting slides and much more. Young climbers and thrill seekers can scale the one-of-a-kind Rainier Rock Wall on their way up to Tall Timbers Tree House, then proceed to wobble, wiggle and weave their way from start to finish on the four rope bridges: Galloping Gertie, Wapato Wobbler, Critter Crawl and Sasquatch Sling.
The grand opening ceremony will be held on Sat., March 2 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the STAR Center, located at 3873 South 66th Street. Family activities include live entertainment, face painting, balloon art, refreshments and contests. Admission to the playground is free during the event for youth ages 6 to 12 and at least 42 inches tall.
