Tacoma Community Colleges spring and fall 2001 Own Your Future branding campaign was selected to receive the prestigious Gold Paragon Award for the Most Successful Recruitment Marketing Campaign at the 2002 National Council of Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) national conference in Orlando, Fla. on Tuesday, March 19.
NCMPRs Paragon Awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community, junior and technical colleges. It is the only national competition of its kind that exclusively honors excellence among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges. The Gold Paragon Award is the highest honor in the Successful Recruitment Marketing Campaign category.
Becky Olson, NCMPR executive director, reported at the awards banquet that there were more than 1,400 entries received in 39 different categories from 240 two-year colleges.
The campaign was also selected to receive the Gold Medallion for Best Promotional Campaign at the 2001 NCMPR District VII Conference last fall.
TCCs Mow Lawns, Babysit and Flip Burgers out-of-home and print campaign was targeted to the high school audience.
