Crews plan to close the eastbound 38th Street off-ramp from northbound Interstate 5 between 11pm Friday and 4am Saturday. The ramp closure allows crews to perform noise-wall work associated with the ongoing I-5 widening project between the Tacoma Mall and Tacoma Dome. Detour routes are available at the 56th Street off-ramp and the westbound 38th Street off-ramp. This widening project builds northbound collector-distributor lanes aimed at reducing weaving traffic on the mainline.
