Tacoma Fire to host open houses Oct. 11

Residents of Tacoma and Fircrest can celebrate Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 5- 11, by visiting six neighborhood fire stations from 1-4 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 11. Each station will be hosting different activities.

This year’s theme, “Prevent Home Fires” encourages everyone to team up and spread the message that fire safety saves lives. Stations will be open and equipment will be on display. Firefighters will answer questions about escape planning, fire safety and disaster preparedness.

The following six stations will host open houses:

1. Station 3 – 206 Browns Point Blvd., NE Tacoma

2. Station 4 – 1453 S. 12th, Hilltop

3. Station 11 – 3802 McKinley Ave., McKinley Hill

4. Station 13 – 3825 N. 25th, Proctor

5. Station 16 – 7217 6th Ave., Skyline/West End District

6. Station 17 – 302 Regents Blvd., Fircrest
