Tacoma Community College to present Information Literacy Awards

Tacoma Community College (TCC) will hold its annual Information Literacy Awards this week to honor students and faculty members who actively support information literacy, which is the ability to recognize when information is needed, and to locate, evaluate, and effectively use the information.

TCC’s Library Advisory Committee will present the 2014 Faculty Information Literacy Award to Tova Rubin, and the 2014 Student Information Literacy Award to Yuki Saclolo and Sandi Baker.

The awards will be presented on Weds., May 21, at 2:30 p.m., in the South Reading Room of the Library (Building 7), located at 6501 S. 19th St., in Tacoma. The event is free and open to the public. It will also feature students reading excerpts from writings to be published in annual student publications, including Una Voce and Trillium.
