Tacoma Chamber receives ‘elite’ honor

The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber is among the best of the best in America according to the United States Chamber of Commerce, which has recognized the organization with an elite 5-star Accreditation rating.

“Accreditation is one of the highest honors bestowed on local chambers fighting for pro-growth and jobs policies,” said U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. Donahue.

Only 20 of the nearly 7,000 chambers in the country carry the 5-star Accreditation, the highest level awarded. The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber is the only chamber of commerce in Washington with the preeminent designation.

“The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber has done an outstanding job and should be commended for excellence in finance, human resources, program development, technology, and facilities,” said reviewers at the U.S. Chamber, the world’s largest business federation representing more than 3 million businesses and business advocacy organizations.

“Our ongoing efforts to assure that we maintain a commitment to value and benefit for our members has been affirmed by this honor,” said Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber President and CEO David Graybill. “This recognition is a tribute to the efforts of staff, leadership, and volunteers in making the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber one of the most effective in the nation.”

The TPCC will present the award plaque to members during its Board of Directors meeting December 8 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at The Tacoma Club located on the 16th Floor of Wells Fargo Plaza at 1201 Pacific Ave. in downtown Tacoma.
