If you are planning on drinking while watching the Super Bowl game on Sunday, heres some advice: Dont drive.
Law enforcement officers from Pierce County police departments will be on special patrol during and after the game looking for impaired and unsafe drivers. The Washington Traffic Safety Commission is providing extra funding for law enforcement agencies to have extra officers on the road. During last year’s Pierce County Super Bowl emphasis patrol, 23 people were arrested for driving under the influence.
The DUI/traffic safety emphasis patrols are coordinated by the Tacoma/Pierce County DUI Task Force and supported by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
