Due to the removal of the Tacoma Avenue Bridge and changing traffic patters, the City of Tacoma’s Traffic Engineering section has determined that there is no longer a need for stop signs on the east and west legs of the intersection. The change will take place over the next several months. At the end of the process, the stop signs will be placed so that traffic on Tacoma Avenue stops instead of the traffic on South 34th St. South 34th St. will then be consistently stop-controlled from Pacific Avenue to South G St.
