“Continental Changes NameContinental Savings Bank is changing its name to HomeStreet Bank. The name change will officially take place as of May 15.Richard Swanson, chairman and CEO of the 79-year-old company said that the HomeStreet name better reflects the bank’s focus on home mortgage loans and personal banking services. Only the name of the bank is changing, ownership is remaining the same, Swanson said.Continental is the largest privately owned bank in the Northwest, according to company information, and is still guided by third-generation members of the firm’s founding family.The bank’s holding company will also change names to HomeStreet, Inc.Bead Factory MovesThe Bead Factory has announced their expansion and relocation to 2601 6th Avenue in Tacoma. The retail operation had previously been located at Freighthouse Square for the past seven years.The expansion allows for an increased selection of merchandise and a greater variety of workshops in jewelry design and bead making.
