Beginning April 23, the City Center Parking and Mobility Strategy Implementation Team will host a series of public meetings to start developing recommendations to determine how to employ parking pay stations within downtown Tacoma.
The public is invited to attend the meetings, which will help determine what type of pay stations should be used, permits, pricing and other factors needed to have a successful program. The first meeting will take place on April 23 from 4:30-6 p.m. in room 708 of the Tacoma Municipal Building located at 747 Market St. The subsequent meetings will be held every other Wednesday from 4:30-6 p.m. in the same location.
This effort is in line with the city center parking and mobility strategy (downtown parking and transit plan), which strives to support a vital downtown and a city multimodal transportation system by reducing downtown automobile congestion, assuring access to parking for downtown visitors and residents, by supporting the use of alternative forms of transportation.
After the series of parking meetings conclude, the team will take the publics feedback into consideration and will develop recommendations for the City Council. For more information about the meeting schedule and downtown parking, visit http://www.cityoftacoma.org/downtownparking .
