CITY OF TACOMA, WASHINGTON
On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed Tideflats Subarea Plan, as recommended by the Tideflats Steering Committee, and related amendments to the One Tacoma Plan and Tacoma Municipal Code, as recommended by the Planning Commission.

The meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format. To attend in person, the meeting will be held at the Tacoma Municipal Building in the Council Chambers, located at 747 Market Street, on the first floor. To attend remotely, join through Zoom at www.zoom.us/j/84834233126 or dial 253-215-8782 and enter the meeting ID 848 3423 3126 and passcode 349099 when prompted. Council meetings are also available to watch live on TV Tacoma.
Oral comment will be taken during the City Council meeting. Those wishing to submit written comment may do so by email to the City Clerk’s Office at cityclerk@tacoma.gov or by mail at 747 Market Street, Tacoma, WA 98402, by 5:00 p.m., on Monday, October 27, 2025. Written comments will be compiled, sent to the City Council, and posted online.

City Council Public Hearing Tideflats Subarea Plan
Public Hearing: Tuesday, October 28, 2025, no earlier than 5:15 p.m.
Hearing Format: Hybrid (in-person and virtual)
Written Comments Due: Monday, October 27, 2025, by 5:00 p.m.
The Tideflats subarea planning initiative aims to establish a unified long-term vision and coordinated strategy for development, environmental oversight, and strategic capital investments in the Tideflats region. This effort supports ongoing eligibility and prioritization of transportation funding within the regionally designated Port of Tacoma Manufacturing Industrial Center. Under consideration is the Tideflats Steering Committee Draft Subarea Plan and related amendments to the One Tacoma Comprehensive Plan, and proposed amendments to Tacoma Municipal Code Title 13.06 Zoning and Title 19 Shoreline Master Program.
The City Council will hold a public hearing to receive public input on the draft subarea plan and proposed amendments. The hearing will be held during the City Council meeting on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, and will begin upon completion of the regular agenda items, no earlier than 5:15 p.m. The meeting will be hybrid format with in-person (Tacoma Municipal Building Council Chambers, 747 Market St., 1st Floor) and virtual options (on Zoom or by calling 253-215-8782 and entering the meeting ID: 848 3423 3126 and passcode 349099 when prompted) to attend.
Oral testimony may be provided at the City Council public hearing on October 28, 2025. Written comment may be submitted by email to cityclerk@tacoma.gov or by mail to 747 Market Street, Tacoma, WA 98402, and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025. Details on how to participate in the hearing and submit comment is available at tacoma.gov/tideflats.
On Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., community members are invited to a virtual informational meeting to learn more about the project and proposed code updates, and how to provide comments during the City Council public hearing comment period.
