I. No garbage, recycling and yard waste collection Dec. 22

Customers with Monday collection should set out only their garbage and recycling containers on Tuesday. Customers with Tuesday collection should set out their garbage and recycling containers as usual. Solid Waste Management will collect what they’re safely able to pick up the remainder of the week. Wednesday customers should also set out their containers as usual.

II. Yard waste collection canceled Dec. 22-27

Customers with yard waste collection service the week of Dec. 22 should set out their yard waste on their next scheduled yard waste collection week (week of Jan. 5).

III. Holiday collection schedule for Thursday and Friday customers

City of Tacoma administrative offices will close Christmas Day, so garbage and recycling (no yard waste) pickup will be one day late the rest of the week. Thursday’s pickup day moves to Friday and Friday’s pickup moves to Saturday. The City of Tacoma’s landfill, recycling center and household hazardous waste facility will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will be closed all day on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
