Text Amendments to GHMC 17.80 Sign Code

Date of Notice: June 20, 2025

Project Location: City-wide Project Description: Proposal to amend language in Gig Harbor Municipal Code 17.80 – Sign Code. This proposal is to clarify the definitions of “sign”, “residential temporary sign area” and “non-residential temporary sign area”. The revised language removes conflicts and inconsistencies improving uniformity of the Sign Code’s application and enforcement. SEPA Threshold Determination: A SEPA Threshold Determination is not required for this non-project action.

PUBLIC HEARING DATE:

Planning Commission Meeting, Tuesday, July 01, 2025, 5:30 PM, Virtual Hearing or in person at Gig Harbor Civic Center, Council Chambers, 3510 Grandview Street, Gig Harbor

Interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing and provide testimony on this proposal. The hearing will be conducted in the manner prescribed by Gig Harbor Municipal Code Chapter 19.05.

Documents pertinent to this application are available for review and inspection at the City of Gig Harbor Community Development Department, 3510 Grandview Street, Gig Harbor, WA 98335, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, online under Planning Commission Agendas & Minutes section and at the permit portal, https://ci-gigharbor-wa.smartgovcommunity.com/Public/Home
