After conducting a national recruitment search, the City of Tacoma announced today that it has hired Phyllis MacLeod to be the new hearing examiner when the current hearing examiner, Rod Kerslake, retires in February 2012. MacLeod has a doctorate from the University of Puget Sound, School of Law and was most recently the administrative appeals judge with the Environmental and Land Use Hearings Office. Prior to that, she served as an assistant attorney general with the state Attorney General’s Office. MacLeod, who joins the City on Dec. 5, will be responsible for conducting quasi-judicial adjudicative proceedings concerning a number of City functions.
