Tacoma City Councilmembers are scheduled Tues., Sept. 20 to hear an update from the Washington State Department of Transportation on the Point Defiance Bypass project, which would divert passenger train service to an inland route to downtown Tacoma. Members are also scheduled to see a brief demonstration of a new digital subscription tool that the City plans to begin using soon to help improve ongoing communications and outreach to Tacoma residents. The Council will not take public comment during the noon study session in the Tacoma Municipal Building North, 733 Market St., Room 16.
