City seeks bids for Foss Waterway Site 11 Esplanade project

The City of Tacoma is accepting bids for a public works project involving the second phase of the Thea Foss Waterway Site 11 Esplanade, according to a legal notice published this week in the Tacoma Daily Index. The project calls for the construction of a 300-foot-long concrete esplanade with lighting, railing, and park benches. The project will also install 17 new piles to support the new esplanade.

Two years ago, the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board awarded a $500,000 grant to the City of Tacoma to help fund the project, which aims to create a 1.5-mile esplanade along Thea Foss Waterway.

Bids will be received until 11 a.m. on Tues., April 8. A pre-bid meeting will be held at 2 p.m. on Tues., March 18, at the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St., Room 537, in downtown Tacoma. The project budget is estimated at $1.6 million to $1.7 million.
