Flying high from her most recent match, she takes on her latest project: an orphan named Harriet Smith, who quickly discovers that Emma’s confidence is enough to carry most anyone along in its wake. But when secretive visitors and surprise guests appear in Highbury, Emma’s best-laid schemes begin to go off the rails, and she is forced to make adjustments while deftly side-stepping the counter-schemes of her presumptuous neighbor, George Knightley.
