The City of Tacoma and West Mall area, between 40th and 48th streets and Pine, Oakes and Union streets, have partnered to host a cleanup on Sat., Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Homeowners and renters in single-family and duplex residences in this area are encouraged to unload unwanted items for free at the Madison School Complex located at 3101 S. 43rd St. All that is required to dump is proof of residence such as a driver’s license or current utility bill. Items that can’t be dumped include material from a business; cars, motorcycles, campers or boat parts; truck canopies, trailers, boats or recreational vehicles; daily household garbage; hazardous waste; riding mowers; and animal carcasses.
