Two public hearings scheduled for June 10

On June 10, at approximately 5:30 p.m. the City Council are scheduled to have a public hearing for the proposed revisions to the Land Use Regulatory Code, Critical Areas Preservation Ordinance, which includes Marine Shoreline Critical Areas as recommended by the Tacoma Planning Commission. The proposed revisions are intended to address the Central Puget Sound Growth Management Hearings Board’s (GMHB) order of non-compliance.

There will also be a public hearing held by City Council on June 10 to consider designating approximately 658.6 acres in downtown Tacoma as a Revenue Development Area (RDA) downtown and to authorize the City Manager to submit a Local Infrastructure Financing Tool (“LIFT”) Competitive Program application to the State of Washington, Community Economic Revitalization Board.
