TV Tacoma to broadcast live coverage of Relay for Life

Tune in to TV Tacoma for live 24-hour coverage of the 25th annual American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life from Mt. Tahoma High School beginning at 6 p.m. on Fri., June 12.
Twenty-five years ago, Tacoma colorectal surgeon Gordon Klatt ran continuously for 24-hours to raise awareness and funding to fight cancer through the American Cancer Society. His actions inspired Relay for Life, which is now the largest health-related fundraising event in the United States, having raised over $3 billion.

Teams from both the City of Tacoma and Tacoma Public Utilities join over 160 other Tacoma teams to raise money for cancer research, education and prevention. In addition to continuous live coverage from the track, this year Columbia Bank has sponsored TV Tacoma’s coverage of the opening ceremony, survivors/caregivers lap, the Tom Mosich Leadership Award Ceremony, the luminaria, the Fight Back Ceremony and closing festivities.

TV Tacoma is carried on both Click! Cable TV and Comcast Cable systems. On Click! Cable TV, TV Tacoma can be seen on Channel 12 in the Tacoma City limits and in Pierce County, with the exception of University Place, where TV Tacoma can be found on Channel 21. On Comcast, TV Tacoma can be seen on Channel 12 in the Tacoma City limits and on Channel 21 in Pierce County. TV Tacoma is also streamed live on the TV Tacoma Web site at http://www.tvtacoma.org .
