TV Tacoma show features answers about bridge closures

Staff members from the Washington State Department of Transportation (DOT) will discuss the closure of three bridges over Interstate 5 near downtown Tacoma in a segment on the April 6 edition of CityLine at 9 a.m. on TV Tacoma. Viewers can call 591-2061 during the live show at to ask questions regarding these closures.

Tacoma drivers will have to find alternate routes across I-5 starting this month, as the DOT begins closing city street bridges over I-5 to accommodate work on a highway widening project.

Bridges that will be affected by the closures include:

— Yakima/Thompson Bridge

— G/Delin Bridge

— Tacoma Avenue Bridge

All three bridges are expected to be closed for a year. Alternate routes include M Street and Pacific Avenue. For a map and more detour information, visit the link to the DOT Web site for the project on the City’s Online Newsroom at http://www.cityoftacoma.org/tacomanews .

The CityLine program will replay on the following schedule:

— April 6 at 7 p.m.

— April 7 at 1 a.m., 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

— April 8 at 2 a.m., 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

— April 9 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 11 p.m

— April 10 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

— April 11 at 2 a.m. and 2 p.m.

— April 12 at 4 a.m. and 11 a.m.
