Tuesday Morning opens store in Tacoma

Value-conscious shoppers in search of top brands for extraordinary closeout prices might want to check out Tuesday Morning, which opened its doors yesterday, which was, of course, a Tuesday.

That’s when the leading closeout retailer of upscale, decorative home accessories and famous maker gifts opened its first Tacoma store, in the Michaels Center at 3701 S. Cedar.

The 9,100-square-foot store is one of 545 Tuesday Morning stores in 43 states.

Tuesday Morning is nationally known for providing its more than 6.7 million loyal customers with a treasure hunt of first quality, brand name merchandise at prices 50 percent to 80 percent below regular retail prices found in department and specialty stores and upscale catalogs.

“Our customers line up for the opening day of each sale because they know they can find the most sought after merchandise – and they know our merchandise moves fast,” said Kathleen Mason, president and CEO of Tuesday Morning.

The sale event features all the comforts of home – Martex and other famous maker bath towels, Italian 300 thread count sheet sets, 100 percent Egyptian cotton Matelassé coverlet sets, Laura Ashley pillows and much more.

Shoppers will also choose from an assortment of richly upholstered pillows with beaded fringe or patterned beadwork, oversized ready-to-hang art with wide-molded frames and double mats, and a huge selection of decorative, functional basketry.

With graduations, weddings, baby showers and Father’s Day, summer is time for gift-giving. Tuesday Morning shoppers will find popular Adidas and Fila backpacks and duffels, colorful collectible pieces from America’s most famous art glass company, mouthblown crystal, Tommy Hilfinger silk woven ties, Cutter & Buck sport shirts and jackets, and men’s gift sets from Alexander Julian.

Tuesday Morning continues to assemble a merchandise mix that is in demand and ever-changing because its buyers average 20 years of retail experience and have developed an extensive global vendor network. The treasure hunt atmosphere, with new products arriving weekly, drive repeat business.

Tuesday Morning aficionados know to return throughout the event to find new selections of their favorite brand names – Pierre Cardin, Krups, Fieldcrest, Royal Doulton and more – as well as other treasures from around the world. These treasures are limited in quantity, but are always a new delight to customers who appreciate finding one-of-a-kind items as well as merchandise that is rarely discounted.

“The Tuesday Morning customer can shop anywhere, but she chooses to shop at Tuesday Morning,” Mason said. “We appreciate that loyalty, so our more than 6.7 million preferred customers nationwide receive advanced notice of each event.”

Based in Dallas, Tuesday Morning Corp. is publicly traded under NASDAQ/NMS “TUES.”
