Tee up in June for free downtown Tacoma mini-golf

The U.S Open at Chambers Bay is right around the corner and Tacoma is ready to welcome it with Pop-Up Art Putt! — a free public mini-golf course in downtown Tacoma.

The course includes 10 holes designed by Tacoma artists. Each hole is built around a theme, ranging from the comic and playful to those showcasing Tacoma’s unique landmarks. The mini-golf course will span the Prairie Line Trail along Hood Street between South 15th Street, South 17th Street, Tollefson Plaza, and Tacoma Art Museum’s Paul G. Allen Family Foundation Plaza.

A kick-off party will be held on Thurs., June 18, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Visitors can check out clubs and balls at Tacoma Art Museum. The mini-golf course will be open through Sun. June 21. The event is a collaboration between Tacoma Art Museum, the City of Tacoma, and The National Endowment for the Arts.
