High school students are invited to learn about information technology education options and careers at Information Technology Mega-Camp, slated for June 23-26 on Tacoma Community Colleges main campus.
Students will learn about two-year and four-year education options and how to prepare for them in high school; explore IT careers such as Web developing, programming and networking through mini-classes and hands-on labs; talk with networking, Web and programming professionals; find out how they can obtain an in-demand but low-cost degree; learn about career planning, applying to college and paying for college; and work with IT industry mentors.
Participating students can also receive high school and college credit for a free, special session of the Introduction to Information Technology course that will meet June 30-August 15 at TCC.
IT Mega-Camp is open to students who will be high school sophomores, juniors and seniors for the 2003-2004 school year.
Sessions are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 23 – June 25 and 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 26.
