Tacoma's Edison neighborhood cleanup event Saturday

Single-family and duplex homeowners and renters in the Edison neighborhood and surrounding areas (from 48th to 66th streets between Tyler Street and Tacoma Mall Boulevard) will have the opportunity this weekend to dispose of unsightly debris with the assistance of staff from the City of Tacoma and community volunteers.

All that is required to discard debris and other unwanted items is proof of neighborhood residence, such as a driver’s license or current utility bill. Items that cannot be discarded as part of this effort include material from a business; cars, motorcycles, campers or boat parts; truck canopies, trailers, boats or recreational vehicles; daily household garbage; hazardous waste; riding mowers; and animal carcasses.

The event will be held on Sat., April 27 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Edison Elementary School, located at 5830 S. Pine St.
