If so, please come to our free solar workshop and learn how solar photovoltaics (PV) can reduce your carbon footprint at home or at work. You’ll leave the session feeling empowered about what you can do as an individual to help save the planet.

By installing an 8 kilowatt, (8,000 watt) solar PV system, every year you can have the following immediate impact on the planet by offsetting:

– 5,999 pounds of coal burned, or …
– 13 barrels of oil consumed, or …
– 13,474 miles driven by an average passenger vehicle

Artisan Electric, your local electrical contractor, has installed more than 800 solar PV systems and we’re hosting a series of free solar workshops so you can learn how solar benefits the planet and if solar is right for you.

In the workshop you’ll learn about the environmental, technical and financial aspects of Solar In Tacoma. While listening to the presentation, enjoy some FREE craft beer, soda and pizza, compliments of Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union.

Topics include:

Environmental:
– How solar impacts air and water quality.
– Solar can reduce our reliance on hydropower.
– Solar produces no emissions.

Technical:
– What are solar photovoltaics and how they work in Tacoma.
– How solar PV interconnects to your electrical system.
– What locations are good for solar. (Is my site okay?)

Financial:
– There’s a new solar incentive bill in Washington!
– Federal and local incentive overview.
– How to pay for solar and how long before solar pays you.

At the end of the workshop, there will be opportunities to sign-up for free solar site surveys so you can get customized information about how solar can benefit you.
