Resolution to address management and purchase of Julia’s Gulch

City Council members are scheduled Oct. 23 to consider a resolution that would authorize the purchase and long-term management of the open space property known as Julia’s Gulch. The property is 31.66 acres of undeveloped land located in Northeast Tacoma. The Port of Tacoma and the City have been working together to purchase the property for the purpose of preserving it as open space – the funding for the property purchase and the long-term management will come from the City’s Open Space Fund, the Port, and a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coastal and Estuarine Land Conservation Program Grant.
