Puyallup Fair hiring workers

Having fun and working don’t normally go hand-in-hand, but they do at the Puyallup Fair. Last year, over 1,700 job seekers were hired. The Washington State Employment Office will begin filling hundreds of Puyallup Fair positions starting Wednesday, Aug. 4. The Puyallup Fair will run Sept. 10-26.

Interested individuals may begin applying Aug. 4 at the Fair’s Job Service Center office. Office hours will be 8 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, until Sept.26. The office is located on the west side of the Fairgrounds near the Orange Gate (by the Roller Coaster) on Fifth Street.

There are a variety of positions, including restaurant workers, barn workers, retail sales, rides, game booth operators and more. Most jobs will pay minimum wage ($7.16/hour). All applicants must be at least 16 years old.
If interested, applicants must apply IN PERSON at the Fair Job Service office near the Orange Gate. Picture identification and proof of legal right to work, such as a social security card or alien registration card are required.

The Puyallup Fair first started in 1900. This Pacific Northwest tradition features top name entertainment, the PRCA Rodeo, rides, exhibits, food, flowers, and animals. For further information, visit www.thefair.com or call the 24-hour hotline at 253/841-5045.
