PORT OF TACOMA 2014 BUDGET  ONLINE

The Port of Tacoma’s 2014 budget document is now available online.

The document describes all aspects of the Port of Tacoma’s business, from a broad operational overview and the business outlook to budget details, the Capital Improvement Program, Plan of Finance and environmental stewardship.

Port of Tacoma Commissioners scheduled two public meetings in November to consider the Port of Tacoma’s 2014 budget, business forecast, finance plan and tax levy. The first meeting included an in-depth look at business forecasts, capital building plans, the tax levy and the 2014 budget. Commissioners invited public comment at this meeting. The second and final meeting was a special public hearing to formally adopt the 2014 statutory budget, tax levy and authorization to bank excess tax levy capacity.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at Port of Tacoma activities on board a free guided bus tour.

The Port of Tacoma has set the dates for all bus tours in 2014 and is accepting reservations. The following dates still have seats available: March 19 at 10 a.m.; April 22 at 10 a.m. (Earth Day-themed tour); May 15 at 1 p.m.; June 20 at 10 a.m.; July 23 at 10 a.m. (habitat/public access-themed tour); Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. (habitat/public access-themed tour); Oct. 24 at 1 p.m.; and Nov. 21 at 1 p.m.

The 75-minute bus tour leaves from the Fabulich Center, 3600 Port of Tacoma Road, in Tacoma. Space is limited and reservations are required. Children age 6 and over are welcome. Photo identification is required for passengers over 17 years of age.
