Action on Ordinances
Proposal No. 2002-131s2, granting a nonexclusive franchise to the City of Tacoma, a municipal corporation, for location of railroad tracks on certain county-owned rights-of-way, and authorizing the County Executive to execute said franchise.

Proposal No. 2003-74, granting the City of Auburn, a municipal corporation of the State of Washington, a nonexclusive franchise to construct, operate and maintain a sanitary sewer pipeline system over, in, along and under certain public roads and highways in Pierce County, Washington; and authorizing the County Executive to execute the franchise.

Messages from the Executive
A message from the Executive transmitting the following Ordinances, which were approved and signed on September 16, 2003:

Ordinance No. 2003-81s, amending Section 14.20.040 of the Pierce County Code, “Facilities Use Fees,” by amending park facilities fees schedules, adding new fees for parks and recreation activities and facilities; and establishing an effective date for the new fees.

Ordinance No. 2003-83, ratifying the collective bargaining agreement reached with Pierce County Juvenile Court Guild; and amending the Pierce County Salary Classification Plan.

Ordinance No. 2003-86, amending Ordinance No. 2003-43 to correct the parcel number of one of five properties approved for timberland classification under current use assessment. (Application OST17-02, Wayne E. Arnold and Bonnie Jo Christner – Tanwax area)

Ordinance No. 2003-87, amending Ordinance No. 2003-41S to correct the legal description of property approved for open space classification under current use assessment. (Application OS12-02, Scott Rammell – Buckley area)

Ordinance No. 2003-88, amending Ordinance No. 2003-59 to correct the parcel number, street address and legal description of two of five properties approved for timber land classification under current use assessment. (Application OST40-02 and OST45-02, Manke Lumber Company, Inc. – Key Peninsula area)

Proclamations
Proposal No. R2003-125, proclaiming October 2003 as “Native American Awareness Month” in Pierce County, Washington; and encouraging citizens to attend events which celebrate the Native American culture and increase awareness of Native American contributions to Pierce County and to the United States of America.

Ordinances
Proposal No. 2003-72, amending Ordinance No. 2002-112s, as amended; and increasing the 2003 budget for the Economic Development Department, the Corrections Department and the Roads Construction Fund.

Resolutions
