Pierce County auditor seeks temp election workers

The Pierce County Auditor’s Office is accepting applications for temporary work Aug. 19 and Nov. 4 during the Primary and General elections, respectively. “This is a great opportunity for retirees and others to participate in the democratic process and earn some extra money at the same time,” said Auditor Pat McCarthy.

Prospective extra-hire election workers must be prepared to work extended hours on the two election days. They also must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Other requirements include: ability to speak, read and write the English language; available to attend three mandatory training sessions; must be at least 16 years of age; ability to drive and have a vehicle (workers will be reimbursed for mileage).
