Lorie Green resigns as City Club of Tacoma president

Lorie Green resigned Wednesday as City Club of Tacoma president to take a job with Wells Fargo in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Green made the announcement during the beginning of City Club’s luncheon program, catching many in attendance off guard.

Green, who leaves a job as vice president with Columbia Bank in Tacoma, said she received the formal offer to join the private client services division of Wells Fargo on Tuesday.

“I’ll be leaving in two weeks,” she told the crowd. Green starts her new job on Jan. 6.

She has been City Club president since August.

Noting she was a little disappointed that she wouldn’t be able to complete her term as president, Green said this was an offer she couldn’t pass up.

President-elect Jim Reardon, a retired transportation consultant, takes over as City Club of Tacoma president.
