Historic Tacoma: Public meeting Oct. 23 features $28M heritage school renovation

Historic Tacoma will hold its annual membership meeting and reception on Thurs., Oct. 23, at 7 p.m., at Washington Elementary School, located at 2615 N. Adams St., in Tacoma.

The event will feature a presentation by BLRB Architects Senior Associate and Architect Jonah Jensen regarding a $28 million rehabilitation and expansion of the facility, which was built in 1906 by notable local architect Frederick H. Health, and is listed on the City of Tacoma’s Register of Historic Places. Tacoma Public Schools held a grand re-opening celebration earlier this month.
