Glowing reviews: Holiday light shows begin this week

The holiday season lights up – literally – with two of the area’s premier light displays beginning this week: Fantasy Lights and Zoolights.

Spanaway Park will be glowing with Fantasy Lights starting Thanksgiving evening and continuing through New Year’s Eve.

Sponsored by Pierce County Parks and Recreation, Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park will be presented each evening from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $9 for vehicles and $45 for buses.

For more information on Fantasy Lights and directions to the park call 253/798-3330 or visit www.piercecountywa.org/parks.

The lights go on for Zoolights on Nov. 29 at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium.
Zoolights will operate on a similar schedule as last year. The display will open Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving.

Zoolights will be closed Mondays through Wednesdays until Dec. 12, then open daily through Sunday, Jan. 5 (except Dec. 24-25).

Zoolights tickets are $4 at the gate or $3.50 if purchased in advance. Advance tickets are on sale at Albertson’s stores in Pierce, King, Thurston, Kitsap and Snohomish counties, and before 4 p.m. daily at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. Parking is free.

For details, call 253/591-5337 or visit the zoo’s Website at www.pdza.org.
