Fundraising goals met for new UPS science building

The University of Puget Sound announced Friday that it has earned a $750,000 challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation, completing the $18.7 million fundraising campaign for a new science laboratory building at Harned Hall. The 51,000 sq. ft. science building will provide laboratory spaces and support areas to serve the chemistry, biology, geology, and physics departments, in addition to creating dedicated space for environmental studies. The high-tech facility will accommodate escalating enrollments in science courses and support the ways in which faculty and students engage in contemporary scientific exploration and discovery. The building is currently under construction and scheduled to open in August 2006.
