The trail has gone cold on finding the person using a crossbow to shoot deer within Nanaimo city limits.
No new tips or rewards have come up, but that doesnt mean officials are giving up, says conservation officer Ron Heusen.
Its out of the media eye I guess, he said. But we havent concluded it by any means.
Since the three deer shot last month were reported, conservation officers have found another arrow shot into someones backyard in the Stephenson Point area. But Heusen said since that finding, things have been quiet ever since the end of hunting season a few weeks ago.
He said its a reasonable conclusion to believe all of these incidents are related, and catching the person responsible is going to be a long process.
Someone thats operating like this is going to be very secretive about it.
