City seeks applicants for Tacoma Citizen Review Panel

Tacoma City Council seeks to fill one position on the Citizen Review Panel.

The Citizen Review Panel is a seven-member advisory panel to Tacoma City Council with oversight of Tacoma Police Department policy. The panel is responsible for conducting policy review; reviewing trends in complaint investigation and statistical reports; and engaging in community outreach. Members of the Citizen Review Panel are recommended by Tacoma City Council’s Public Safety, Human Services and Education Committee and appointed by Tacoma City Council.

Qualified applicants will be screened by a criminal background check and must be a registered voter, have lived in Tacoma for at least two years immediately before applying, not hold any other elected public office, not currently serve as a member of the Tacoma Police Department, or be an immediate family member of a department employee.
