City of Tacoma REQUEST FOR BIDS Specification No. PW16-0171N Department of Public Works Old City Hall Cornice/ Window Stabilization The City of Tacoma is accepting BIDS for the above solicitation. Submittals will be received and time stamped only at the Purchasing Division, located in Tacoma Public Utilities Administration Building, Main Floor, 3628 South 35th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409. Respondents may submit bids by fax or e-mail unless stated in this Request for Bids. The City of Tacoma accepts no responsibility for transmission errors if tansmitted by fax. Bids are subject to the submittal deadline noted in the bid solicitation document. The time of e-mail receipt will be considered as the time of submittal. Submittals are accepted by one of the following delivery methods; e-mail, facsimile, or mail. The City accepts no responsibility for transmission errors. Submittal Deadline: Bids will be received until 11:00 a.m., Pacific Time, Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Pre-Bid Meeting: A Pre-Bid walk-thru will be held onsite (625 Commerce Street, Tacoma, WA 98402) on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 9:00AM to view the roof and window interiors. All attendees will be required to sign the Right of Entry/ Hold Harmless form contained in the contract documents. The walk-thru is not mandatory. This will be the only opportunity to access the building. Project Scope: The construction and installation of wooden window arch supports at 12 locations, and the installation of netting to support the building's existing metal cornices. Limited repointing of existing masonry and masonry repair shall occur as directed by the Owner. Estimate: $130,000 (including WA State Sales Tax) Paid Leave and Minimum Wage: Effective February 1, 2016, the City of Tacoma requires all employers to provide paid leave and minimum wages, as set forth in Title 18 of the Tacoma Municipal Code.
