Tacoma celebrated on Saturday the grand opening of Fire Station No. 8 at 4911 South Alaska St. The new station is staffed by three fire and emergency medical units and is the new location of the South End Neighborhood Councils office and meeting room. Coinciding with Fire Prevention Week, citizens enjoyed a free hot dog lunch and were able to purchase low-cost safety helmets.
