Tacoma City Councilmembers will join other area leaders, community members and City of Tacoma staff on Tues., Aug. 6 for the 30th anniversary of National Night Out Against Crime, an event that celebrates previous successes in making Tacoma safer while creating a broader awareness of the resources and partnerships that exist locally to aid future efforts.
“Serving as each other’s eyes and ears is critical in the fight against crime and National Night Out Against Crime, co-sponsored by Safe Streets, is about taking the time to get to know one another a little better as we move toward our shared vision of a city with vibrant neighborhoods,” said Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland.
A variety of special events will take place in neighborhoods across Tacoma, as community members join millions of people across the country in observance of National Night Out Against Crime. Most events will take place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
