If the City Council approves a resolution June 20, the Tacoma Dome will receive an interfund loan from the Citys General Fund for $2.7 million over a three-year period with a fixed interest rate of 4 percent. The $2.7 million would be used to replace the artificial turf playing surface and for the redesign of a theater-configuration grid which would create a more intimate setting for concerts. Council members are also scheduled to consider a resolution authorizing an agreement in the amount of $825,792 with Sports Construction Group for a PureGrass synthetic portable turf system for the Tacoma Dome. The funding for the new field surface is included in the interfund loan of $2.7 million.
