Beginning today, the Tacoma Mall will offer local residents the opportunity to produce and send free personalized digital video messages to loved ones, including military personnel around the world, as part of the Give Thanks America program, hosted by Simon Property Group and Compaq Computer Corporation, in cooperation with the Department of Defense.
From today until Feb. 17 during mall hours, visitors can visit the Compaq kiosk, located in the Bon Marche Courtyard, to record a free personalized Valentines Day digital video message that can be either sent directly to an e-mail address or uploaded onto the Give Thanks America Web site at:
www.GiveThanksAmerica.com.
This is made possible by advanced technology from Compaq and strategic partners Sorenson Media and Digital Island.
If an e-mail address is provided, the streamed video will be sent directly to that address. The recipient of the message must have a Windows-based PC with Windows Media Player to view the video.
Video messages going to military personnel will be uploaded onto the World Wide Web and made available for access anywhere in the world.
