The Tacoma Landmarks Preservation Commission will take public comment on two nominations to the Tacoma Register of Historic Places at 5 p.m. Feb. 22 in Tacoma Municipal Building North at 733 Market St., Room 16. Nominated properties include 102 West Road N. (McNeely House) and 934-36 Broadway (SH Kress & Co. Building). The McNeely House, built in 1917, is nominated as an example of a Craftsman residence, and as an example of the work of noted Tacoma architect Ambrose Russell. The Kress Building, constructed in 1925, is nominated for its association with the commercial history of downtown Tacoma and as an example of early 20th century commercial architecture.
