Tacoma Power will host a public meeting next week to share information about its fisheries and hatcheries programs for the Cowlitz River.

Attendees will learn about planned activities for implementing the Cowlitz River Fisheries & Hatchery Management Plan, as well as the plan’s annual review, hatchery fish production for the river, and salmon and steelhead populations in the river. More than 60 people attended a similar meeting last month and asked questions that will be answered during the meeting next week.

The meeting will be held on Thurs., April 24, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., at Centralia College’s Science Center in Washington Hall (Room 121), located at 701 W. Walnut St. More information is available by e-mailing cowlitz@ci.tacoma.wa.us.
