School tailored for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder coming to Issaquah

Gersh Academy, a recognized leader in educational services, has selected the greater Seattle area to launch it first school for Autism on the West coast. Scheduled to open in September 2018, Gersh Academy’s unique, customized education, will be an invaluable addition to the community of children and families living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

With multiple locations on the East coast, including New York, Puerto Rico and Indiana, Gersh Academy has provided customized education plans for children with ASD, for more than 25 years. In addition, the new school location, adjacent to the Cougar Mountain Zoo, provides students with the rare opportunity to incorporate animal therapy into their learning and personal development plans.

“It’s fantastic that Gersh Academy is coming to our area,” local special education advocate Diana Lafornara says. “Families struggle to find the right educational fit for their student. It’s wonderful to have more options.”

At Gersh Academy, we believe every student with autism is unique. We customize our approach to learning around each individual student’s needs. “Rather than trying to make a child conform to a standardized system, we celebrate each child’s gifts, interests, and learning style, to promote student success at school, in the community, and at home,” explains Gersh Academy CEO/Chief Autism Officer Kevin Gersh.

We have limited space available; for information on registering your child or to join our amazing Gersh Academy team please visit www.gershacademy.org.
